Notes from a small island A weblog by Jonathan Ali |
Friday, March 28, 2003 "Do you imagine for a single second that the professional 'anti-war' scribblers would have changed their tune in the case of a united diplomatic front?" - Christopher Hitchens in the UK Mirror. Though much of Hitchens's article ignores a great deal of the realities of the war, the question itself is worth posing, and one that I, "anti-war" scribbler that I am, have been asking myself recently. As should anyone who claims to be against this war. Instead of standing up outside the US embassy holding those useless "Give peace a chance" banners, ask yourself: if we are agreed that Saddam Hussein's regime is undesirable, what, realistically, should be the alternative to war? posted by Jonathan | 2:04 PM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
