More unwarranted sensationalism: The headline on the front page of today's Guardian screams "Trinis in JFK terror scare". The facts, however, hardly support such luridness. Yesterday three Trinidadian boys, fishing in Jamaica Bay in New York City, decided to have a little summer fun. They moored their boat and went for a stroll across the JFK Airport runways. After about an hour they turned themselves in to the police, were questioned, then released. End of story.

How that translates into a "terror scare" (and an "exclusive" story) is beyond me. Is the Guardian really that hard-up for readers these days? They must be, because in a move that will surely end up as a "Well it seemed like a great idea at the time" moment, the newspaper has decided, in all earnestness, to make BC Pires its new agony aunt.
