Thursday, September 18, 2003 "He was a scholar. He was a gentlemen. Errol Hill was one of the finest and truest scholars and gentlemen of the Caribbean theatre I have ever met.... "Errol’s grasp of theatre enabled him to embrace the streets of Port of Spain’s Jouvert with as much fervour as Elizabethan Shakespeare. He had so much love for the expressions of the Caribbean. He was A Caribbean! And we are all the better for him. Man Better Man indeed!" -- Artist Peter Minshall, paying tribute to Trinidadian playwright Errol Hill, who passed away on Monday in New Hampshire at the age of 82. Man Better Man was Hill's most famous play. posted by Jonathan | 8:40 AM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
